That is true, but Chicago Style Stepping (aka Steppin) is a version of swing dance that hails from Chicago's black community and is popular throughout the U.S. 

It is a partner dance that involves 2 or more people and is very smooth, cool and sexy.

You can start on your own, but then you will need someone to dance with.  You can recruit anyone to take the journey with you.  Your partner can be any gender.  You can pick which role you want to focus on while your partner does the other.  One or both of you could learn both roles, so you would be able to teach others the dance, or better yet recruit them to become a Steppers Flow member. Soon you would have more people to dance with.

This is not like trying to learn on Youtube. This is a curated on-going curriculum supported by a community and live feedback.
